Anna-Marija Adomaityte & Gautier Teuscher

Based on her own work experience at a McDonald’s and the testimonies of other fast food restaurant employees, Lithuanian dancer Anna-­Marija Adomaityte has investigated the physical and social conditions of the precarious shift work some people execute on a daily basis. «workpiece» is a portrait of a body at work: each movement is preprogrammed, no compromise, no missteps. Ado­maityte’s scrutiny of our performance­-driven society is accompa­nied by Gautier Teuscher’s live musical score, provoking dissonance and a sense of permanent unease. (zts)
